The Must-Have Spring (and beyond) Jacket – mark. Luck Of The Drawstring Anorak

Your Must-Have Jacket For Spring

Your Must-Have Jacket For Spring

Everyone and their mother has a list of must-haves, wardrobe staples, etc, etc… but there are actually are a few things that pop up on all those lists every time for a reason!  One of those is an anorak jacket.  Not only is it functional, but it’s also super on trend and also a classic.  (is that an oxymoron?)  I own safari type jackets that are similar but not a true anorak.  Then mark. came out with this Luck Of The Drawstring Anorak and I was smitten.  But do I really need another jacket?  I really don’t like army green, is this really a must-have?  Well, after seeing a billion awesome looks on pinterest and reading a million different must-haves, wardrobe staples, etc, etc lists I decided yes I need another jacket!  So glad I did because even if it’s not my ideal color this is my ideal jacket!  Honestly, you never really have buyers remorse on a jacket, it will last you years and you can wear it every day if you really want to.

The mark. Luck Of The Drawstring Anorak is a true anorak style.  It has a longer length, multiple pockets and a hood.  What sets this one apart is it’s ruching details on the sleeves and the ability to cinch it at the waist.  The material is a nice weight, canvas like cotton so not only will it look chic on but it will withstand the elements.

Let’s call it like it is, this really isn’t an Alicia jacket.  I’m not really casual and as stated I’m not a huge fan of army green.  But you know what is very Alicia?  Pairing it with a lace pencil skirt!  Pairing 2 very different styles pays off, because how cute are these 2 together?!  The mix of casual and dressy achieves a very wearable and approachable look.  You could also recreate this look with some white crochet shorts for summer of even lace/crochet pants that are trendy right now.  This just shows the versatility out of such a classic jacket.

  1. Love love the jacket paired with the lace skirt. You look AMAZING!!! And it’s DEFINITELY a trend AND a classic. Perfect piece to add to your wardrobe!
PS Thanks for the shout out! 🙂

    1. Of course Jill! I’m on a hunt for the perfect navy and white striped tee so I can recreate! Any recommendations accepted!

  2. I love your blog gives details about Mark Apparels as I love to buy them. I read this from the website, a lot of people who ordered complaint about the sizing, they all said this jacket is smaller than expected, should I order a size up?? I wear medium – large in mark

    1. Oh thank you so much! I didn’t find that it ran small but it is the style that if you’re a med/large going with the large wouldn’t look bad. If you have narrow shoulders go medium maybe?

    2. I just bought an XXL from a co-worker, who bought it for herself but it didn’t fit. I’m nowhere near an XXL size, yet it fits perfectly, even in the shoulders. So yes, I’d say the sizes run small. I’d usually wear a medium or a large. Hope this helps.
